Federal-Mogul Appoints Emerson F. Carr, Business Improvement Manager, General Products
    SOUTHFIELD,  Mich., Jan. 14 -- Frank Tomes, executive vice
president, General Products, Federal-Mogul Corporation , announces
the appointment of Emerson F. Carr to business improvement manager, General
Products.
    "We are delighted that Emerson has chosen to add his professional skills
to our business," said Tomes.  "His appointment brings increased focus to this
important area."
    Carr has extensive operational and strategic experience in international
manufacturing businesses.  Prior to joining Federal-Mogul, Carr was president
and chief executive officer of Twin City Engineering and Twin City Testing.
This was preceded by seven years with A.C. Spark Plug, rising from engineering
management and factory management to managing director, A.C. Spark Plug
Overseas Corporation and finally, global operations manager,
Ignition/Filtration business unit.  Prior to that, he served as president of
the Theory of Constraint Association in Southern England.
    Carr earned a Bachelor of Science degree in engineering from the U.S.
Naval Academy, Annapolis, and an Advanced Management Executive degree from
Oxford University, England.  Carr is a former Attack Fighter Pilot, USMC.
