Lear Corporation Announces Executive Appointments
    SOUTHFIELD, Mich., Jan. 14 -- Lear Corporation
today announced the following executive appointments:

    Frank Preston is appointed Senior Vice President -- Strategic Planning and
South American Operations.  He most recently served as President -- Interior
Systems Group (ISG).  Preston joined Lear as a Senior Vice President and
President of Lear's Masland Division in 1996 following Lear's acquisition of
Masland.  Preston is a resident of Plymouth, Michigan.

    Douglas DelGrosso is appointed President -- ISG.  DelGrosso joined Lear in
1984 and most recently served as President of Lear's General Motors Division.
He also continues to serve as a Senior Vice President of Lear Corporation.
DelGrosso resides in Troy.

    Joe Zimmer is appointed President -- GM Division.  Zimmer joined Lear in
1985 as an Account Manager in the GM Division.  He most recently served as
Vice President -- North American Operations for the GM Division.  Zimmer
resides in Northville.

    Charles E. Fisher is appointed President -- Ford Division.  Most recently
President -- Chrysler Division, Fisher started as a Sales Manager at Lear in
1985.  He resides in Bloomfield Hills.

    Louis R. Salvatore is appointed President -- Chrysler Division.  Salvatore
joined Lear in 1996 and most recently served as Vice President -- Global
Purchasing.  He is in the process of moving to Northville.

    James C. Masters has been appointed President -- Technology Division.
Masters joined Lear in 1994 as Manager of the Seat Structures and Analysis
Groups for Lear's Ford Division and most recently served as the Technology
Division's Vice President -- Advanced Technology.  He resides in Farmington
Hills.

    Steve Hayworth is appointed Vice President -- Global Purchasing.  Hayworth
most recently served as Vice President and General Manager -- Passenger Car I
Business Unit for Lear's Ford Division.  He joined Lear in 1986.  Hayworth
resides in Farmington Hills.
