Data I/O Corporation Expands Programming Product Line For Mid to High Volume Consumer Electronics Manufacturers
REDMOND, Wash., Jan. 11 -- Data I/O Corporation
, a worldwide leader in programmable integrated circuit
technology, has expanded its family of automated programming systems for fine
pitch integrated circuits (ICs) with the introduction today of a newcost
efficient, high volume system that enables consumer electronics manufacturers
to program fine pitch devices at a cost of up to one-third less per part than
similar products on the market.
Called PP 100, the new system is already in use among consumer, medical
and automotive electronics manufacturers such as Siemens, Bosch, Avnet and
Arrow, and is designed to address the emerging needs of mid to high volume
manufacturers.
The PP 100 joins Data I/O's full line of programming products for fine
pitch ICs, which are being used in increasing number by the electronics
industry as electronic products shrink in size. Data I/O pioneered the fine
pitch programming system market when it unveiled the first product for this
market in 1995, and offers a worldwide network of field service and support
centers for its fine pitch programming systems.
"The PP 100 is a field proven programming system targeted towards
electronic equipment manufacturers, and supporting contract manufacturers and
programming centers," said Rick Thompson, product marketing manager for
Data I/O Corporation. "It is especially useful in mid-to-high volume
production environments, such as the telecommunication, personal computer and
automotive industries where device flexibility, throughput and high yields are
critical."
This new, highly flexible and configurable programming system features
universal programming sites for quick changeover of adapters between device
types; optional marking capabilities; an automated state of the art handler to
minimize damage to devices during programming; a throughput of up to
850 devices per hour; and one of the smallest footprints for any fine pitch
handler on the market today.
The PP 100 is available now through Data I/O's worldwide network of
distributors and sales representatives. Pricing for the new programmer starts
at under $200,000.
The market leader for more than 25 years, Data I/O Corporation is the
world leader in device programming and handling solutions, providing the most
comprehensive product offering from design through manufacturing of
programmable integrated circuits. The company, which is publicly traded
, is headquartered in Redmond, Wash., and has sales and support
offices worldwide. The company's worldwide web address is
