NAIAS Announces Changes to Friday's Supplier Preview ScheduleDETROIT, Jan. 6 -- Officials of the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) today announced changes to Friday's schedule as a result of President Clinton's tour of the show and his address to the Detroit Economic Club. "All day Thursday and the morning of Friday of press week are traditionally designated as Supplier Preview Days, and are reserved for approximately 8-10,000 automotive suppliers and their employees to tour the show," said Rod Alberts, NAIAS executive director. "While Thursday, Jan. 7, will remain unchanged and dedicated to accommodate suppliers from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m., Friday's schedule has been modified." Hours for Friday's Supplier Preview Day will change from the originally scheduled hours of 7 a.m. to noon to new hours of 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. "We are doing our best to communicate these changes to those who plan on attending Friday's Supplier Preview Day, and are trying to minimize any inconvenience," said Alberts. "So we're offering special access for credentialed suppliers to attend the show a full two hours early next Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, Jan. 12 through Jan. 14." Alberts said suppliers will be able to beat the crowds and access the show floor beginning at 7 a.m. each of these days. Those interested in credential information should call 313-393-4000. Please note that Friday's black tie Charity Preview event will take place at the regularly scheduled time of 6 to 9 p.m. The president will not attend the Charity Preview. The North American International Auto Show will open to the public on Saturday, Jan. 9 from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Tickets will be available at the door and are $9 for adults; $4 for seniors 65 and over. Children 12 and under are free when accompanied by a parent.
