Twin Disc, Inc., Purchases Industrial Product Line
RACINE, Wis.--Jan. 5, 1999--Twin Disc, Inc., has acquired a line of mechanical power take-off products from Rockford Powertrain, Inc., a privately owned manufacturer of drive lines and clutches. Terms of the purchase were not disclosed. The line of mechanical power take-offs, which currently generates $10 million in annualized net sales, will be manufactured at one of Twin Disc's two Racine, Wisconsin, facilities. The transition of production from Rockford Powertrain to Twin Disc will begin immediately and is expected to be completed by the end of March.
Michael E. Batten, Twin Disc's Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, stated, "We continue to see solid growth potential as a niche manufacturer in the large market for industrial products such as power take-offs, and we are working to expand our market coverage. Combined with the power take-off products of Technodrive we agreed to acquire in December, the purchase of Rockford Powertrain's power take-offs effectively has broadened our line of industrial products and strengthened our market position."
Twin Disc is a manufacturer of heavy-duty power transmission equipment and electronic control systems used in marine, industrial, agricultural, off-highway specialty vehicles, government and construction equipment markets.
