Special Kids to Get Special Wishes From Chrysler Plymouth Superstores And Jeep Dealers; End of Year Sales Event Expected to Generate $50,000 for Make-A-Wish Foundation of MichiganDETROIT, Dec. 28 -- The Make-A-Wish Foundation of Michigan is being "adopted" by the Chrysler Plymouth Superstores and the Jeep Dealers to raise a projected $50,000 during an end-of-the-year Chrysler Plymouth Jeep sales event. The first ever Gift Exchange new vehicle sales event by the Chrysler Plymouth Superstores Association of Southeastern Michigan and the Jeep Dealers of Southeast Michigan is scheduled from Monday, December 28, through Monday, January 4, 1999. The sales target is 1,000 new vehicles to be sold or leased, with $50 of each sale going to the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Michigan. * The projected $50,000 will be the largest business gift to Make-A-Wish of Michigan this year and will fulfill wishes for approximately 10 children with terminal or life-threatening illnesses. * Make-A-Wish Foundation of Michigan has served more than 1,900 Michigan children between the ages of two-and-a-half and 17 years old in its 14-year history. * At least 85 percent of Make-A-Wish expenses directly support the wish- granting program for children with terminal or life-threatening illnesses. * Chrysler Plymouth Superstores and Jeep Dealers expect to sell or lease 1,000 new vehicles between Monday, December 21, and Monday, January 4, 1999, and will donate $50 per vehicle sold or leased to the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Michigan. * Make-A-Wish of Michigan encompasses 350 volunteer supporters from Make- A-Wish Councils throughout the state working to make wishes come true. * To learn more about volunteering for or general information about Make- A-Wish, please call 800-622-WISH.
