Mitsubishi Motors Debuts Two Concept Cars in Southern California
SST Spyder and Montero Sport CityCruiser Represent
                   Distinctive Style and Driving Excitement

WHO: Mitsubishi Motor Sales of America, Inc. (MMSA)
               Greater Los Angeles Auto Show

WHAT: -- Montero Sport CityCruiser -- a modified 2WD SUV packed
with all the punch of a high performance car. With so much
aftermarket customization happening these days on both 2WD and
4WD sport utility vehicles, we've found a way to enhance the
power and styling to make our 2WD Montero Sport really stand
out. Teaming up with high performance aftermarket leader HKS
USA, we've created a turbocharged alternative to sport utility
vehicles, in a distinctively sporty and aggressive package.

-- The SST Spyder concept car previews advanced styling for
roadsters in the next millennium. Designed and built at
Mitsubishi Motors Research and Design of America (MRDA) studio
in Cypress, Calif., the SST embodies a "geo-mechanical" theme
that is expected to appear in future production vehicles. This
fully driveable sports car is powered by a 250-horsepower
4-cylinder, however is constructed by materials -- including
composites and carbon fiber -- which are in their rawest,
purest form. Even the SST Spyder's iridescent "tangerine
dream" exterior color mimics the cadmium look of tooled metal.
