Federal-Mogul Announces Organizational Structure Chassis ProductsSOUTHFIELD, Mich., Dec. 23 -- Dennis Wappelhorst, vice president, Chassis Products, Federal-Mogul Corporation , announces the following appointments for Chassis Products, effective immediately: * James Borys, general manager, precision universal joints * Thomas Byrnes, manager, engineering services * Harrison Caldwell, plant manager, Pontotoc, Missouri * Richard Chenot, director, finance * Sally Flood, director, human resources * George Schmidt, manager, product engineering * Ron Stevens, manager, manufacturing engineering * James West, plant manager, Maryville, Missouri All positions will report to Wappelhorst. "This is an outstanding team that is well equipped for the business challenges ahead," said Wappelhorst. James Borys, General Manager, Universal Precision Joints James D. Borys has been appointed general manager, universal precision joints. Borys will have responsibility for managing the universal precision joint operations based in Chicago. Prior to this appointment, Borys held the position of vice president, operations, Precision, within Coopers Automotive. Borys has 38 years experience in universal joint manufacturing. Starting out on the shop floor, Borys progressed through various management positions, including 13 years in sales management in both aftermarket and original equipment manufacturers channels. He joined Precision in 1975 as vice president, operations and assumed full responsibility in 1984. Borys served in the United States Marine Corps and is past president of the Universal Joint Manufacturers Association. Thomas Byrnes, Manager, Engineering Services Thomas Byrnes has been appointed manager, engineering services. Byrnes will have responsibility for project engineering, new product implementation, and industrial engineering for the Chassis business. Prior to this appointment, Byrnes held the position of manager, engineering services. Byrnes began his career at Moog in 1982 as an industrial engineer. His career has developed with positions in the support departments of industrial engineering, project engineering, tooling engineering, JIT planning, operations administration, and product engineering. In 1994, Byrnes became manager, product development and temperature control systems. Byrnes earned an MBA from Webster University, St. Louis, Missouri and a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Missouri at Rolla. Harrison Caldwell, Plant Manager, Pontotoc, Missouri Harrison Caldwell is plant manager, Pontotoc, Missouri. Caldwell will retain responsibility for operating the Pontotoc plant, having previously held the position of plant manager, Pontotoc with Cooper Automotive. Caldwell has held this position since joining Moog in 1990. Prior to that, Caldwell's career developed through industrial and maintenance engineering in the shipbuilding, paper manufacturing and leisure products industries before expanding into materials and factory management, his last position being that of plant manager, Tupelo, Westwood Industries. Caldwell earned an MBA from the University of South Alabama and a Bachelor of Science degree in industrial engineering from Mississippi State University. Caldwell is also a registered professional engineer. Richard Chenot, Director, Finance Richard Chenot has been appointed director, finance. Chenot will have responsibility for directing the finance function within the Chassis business. Prior to this appointment, Chenot held the position of director, financial analysis for Moog Automotive. Chenot has developed his career in accountancy and audit management in both public accountancy firms and the haulage industry before joining Moog Automotive in 1978. At Moog, Chenot progressed from accounts coordinator in data processing to manager, financial systems. Chenot subsequently became manager, financial planning and analysis. Chenot earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in business administration from Southeast Missouri State University. Sally Flood, Director, Human Resources Sally Flood has been appointed director, human resources. Flood will have responsibility for directing the human resources activity across the Chassis Product group as well as central functions in St. Louis, Missouri. Prior to this appointment, Flood held the position of manager, human resources services, St. Louis. Flood began her career with Cooper in 1988 and has held positions of increasing responsibility in human resource fields. Flood earned a Bachelor's degree in communications from the University of Wisconsin. George Schmidt, Manager, Product Engineering George Schmidt has been appointed manager, product engineering. Schmidt will have responsibility for product engineering across Chassis Products. Prior to this appointment, Schmidt held the position of director, product engineering for Moog Automotive. Schmidt has worked with Moog since 1975, starting as product design engineer and gaining experience in suspension, temperature control and chassis products as his career grew into management and director level positions, culminating in divisional responsibility for product engineering. Schmidt earned an MBA from Southern Illinois University and a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering from Washington University. Schmidt is a registered professional engineer. Ron Stevens, Manager, Manufacturing Engineering Ron Stevens is manager, manufacturing engineering. Stevens will retain responsibility for managing the manufacturing engineering support across the product group. He started in this position in 1997. Stevens started with Moog in 1967, rising from the shop floor through positions in manufacturing supervision and industrial engineering, culminating in manager, industrial engineering in 1988. James West, Plant Manager, Maryville, Missouri James West is plant manager, Maryville, Missouri. West is responsible for the management of the Maryville operations, a position that he has held with Moog Automotive since 1986. West's career combines substantial original equipment manufactures experience with aftermarket service. His previous position was that of plant manager with the Columbus Auto Parts Company located in Ohio.
