Federal-Mogul Strengthens European Sealing Operations with Acquisition Of Glockler Dichtsysteme Gunter Hemmrich GmbHSOUTHFIELD, Mich., Dec. 22 -- Federal-Mogul Corporation announced today that it has agreed to acquire Glockler Dichtsysteme Gunter Hemmrich GmbH, a world class manufacturer of rubber sealing components and acoustic decoupling for inter alia valve covers, intake manifolds and oil pans. "Our European customers will benefit from the extension of our product and technical capabilities towards modules and sub-assemblies. This acquisition takes us one step closer to total sealing capabilities in our European operations," said Wilhelm A. Schmelzer, executive vice president, Sealing Systems. "In the segment of rubber sealing components, Glockler has earned the reputation as an innovative and reliable development partner of the leading original equipment manufacturers in Europe and we will build on that strength. Their manufacturing processes and technical innovations are very impressive." Glockler employs approximately 370 people with sales over $40 million. The company's manufacturing facilities are located in Bretten, Germany and Gyor, Hungary. Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. Headquartered in Southfield, Michigan, Federal-Mogul is a $7 billion automotive parts manufacturer providing innovative solutions and systems to global customers in the automotive, light truck, heavy-duty, and farm and industrial markets.
