Federal-Mogul Announces Organizational Structure Friction Products, EuropeSOUTHFIELD, Mich., Dec. 21 -- Ian Edmondson, vice president, Friction Products, Europe, Federal-Mogul Corporation , announces the European organizational structure for Friction Products with the following appointments effective January 1, 1999: * Jim Dixon, director, manufacturing * Antonio Martinez, director, purchasing and logistics * Friedal Martiny, director, human resources * Dr. Hans-Guenther Paul, director, research and development * Giovanni Pozzi, director, sales and marketing * Michel Rigal, director, business development "As the number one friction supplier in the world, we aim to be our customer's first choice," said Edmondson. Jim Dixon, Director, Manufacturing Jim Dixon has been appointed director, manufacturing. Prior to this appointment, Dixon held the position of managing director of Federal-Mogul Friction Products Ltd. in the United Kingdom. Dixon joined the group in 1995 as divisional director, Ferodo Ltd., United Kingdom, from Davy International, where he held a number of positions including manufacturing director and personnel director. Dixon earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics at the University of Manchester, England. Antonio Martinez, Director, Purchasing and Logistics Antonio Martinez has been appointed director, purchasing and logistics. Prior to this appointment, Martinez held the position of aftermarket business director, Friction Products Group within T&N. Martinez began his career with Garnecto in Spain in 1965, joining T&N in 1989 on the acquisition by T&N of Garnecto. He has held a number of management positions including managing director, Ferodo Necto SA in Spain. Martinez earned a diploma in economics and is a chartered accountant with a diploma in accountancy and tax from the University of Barcelona, Spain. Friedal Martiny, Director, Human Resources Freidel Martiny has been appointed director, human resources. Prior to this appointment, Martiny held the position of director, human resources, Goetze. Martiny joined T&N in 1993 with the acquisition of Goetze and became managing director, T&N Holdings GmbH, later progressing to human resources director, Friction Products Group in 1996. Martiny earned a Master's degree in economics and social sciences at the University of Gottingen, Germany. Dr. Hans-Guenther Paul, Director, Research and Development Dr. Hans-Guenther Paul has been appointed director, research and technology. Prior to this appointment, since 1996 he has held the position of technical director, light vehicles - Europe. He has held a number of research and development positions in the European friction industry before joining the group in 1994 to work at the Ferodo Technical center in Bad Camberg, Germany. Dr. Hans-Guenther Paul earned a Ph.D. in organic chemistry from the Technical University, Clausthal, Germany. Giovanni Pozzi, Director, Sales and Marketing Giovanni Pozzi has been appointed director, sales and marketing. Prior to this appointment, Pozzi held the position of original equipment car business director, Europe, at T&N's Friction Products Group. He began his career with T&N in 1990 and previously held the position of general manager of Ferodo Italiana SpA in Mondovi. Pozzi earned a degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Milan, Italy. Michel Rigal, Director, Business Development Michel Rigal has been appointed director, business development. Prior to this appointment, Rigal held the position of director, original equipment commercial vehicle business, Europe, within T&N's Friction Products Group. He began his career with Abex in France in 1986, joining T&N in 1989 on the acquisition by T&N of Abex. He has held a number of research and development focused positions including technical and quality director and president and general director at Ferodo Abex, France. Rigal earned a degree in physics and metallurgic engineering from CNAM, Paris and attended the INSEAD Executive Program.
