SAE Congress Thrives in Changing Global Automotive MarketplaceWARRENDALE, Pa., Dec. 18 -- Monumental changes in the global automotive industry have prompted more than 1,100 automotive companies to maximize their presence at the SAE International Congress & Exposition (SAE '99) March 1 - 4, 1999, in Detroit, Michigan, USA. Displaying safety, comfort and performance innovations that will appear on automobiles in the 21st century, the exhibitors, including 90 percent of the world's top 25 suppliers, will occupy every corner of Cobo Center's 330,000 net square feet. In addition to more than 50 newcomers to the SAE '99 Exposition, 164 companies will mark more than 10 years of participation in the annual event. Of these 164 companies, 33 will celebrate more than 20 years of exhibiting, while 26 organizations have 15 - 20 years of experience on the SAE show floor. "The SAE Congress is the most important international event for the automotive supplier industry," said Max Lanz, Marketing Manager, Automotive Group, Robert Bosch Corporation. "The SAE Congress gives us the opportunity to show our new product innovations to OEM customers." Exhibiting companies, such as MAHLE Inc., who have participated in the show for decades, say that the event is a proven forum. "MAHLE has participated in the SAE Congress for more than 20 years," said Jeff Trent, Marketing Manager, MAHLE, Inc. "This event has proven to be an excellent forum for promoting our systems capabilities to the worldwide automotive industry." "SAE provides a great opportunity to showcase Delphi's innovations and systems integration capability," said Steve Gaut, Director of Media Relations, Delphi Automotive Systems. "Its Detroit location, close to major OEMs and many leading automotive journalists, makes it one of the best annual venues for Delphi media activities. We always use SAE to show our best and to make industry news." "New and mature companies continue to concur that SAE Congress is a critical component of their marketing plan," said Gretchen Stokes, Division Manager, SAE Exhibits. "Every year, exhibitors are taking more space on the show floor, and for the sixth consecutive year, the SAE show is sold out."
