CCC Announces 7,000th Collision Repair Shop Digital Imaging CustomerCCC's Electronic Claims Settlement Network Continues Expansion As Riverdale Body Shop Installs Pathways Digital Imaging CHICAGO, Dec. 16 -- CCC Information Services Inc. , the leading provider of solutions to the automotive claims industry today announced the 7,000th collision repair customer of its digital imaging products. Riverdale Body Shop in Dolton, Illinois installed CCC's Pathways Digital Imaging to reach the milestone. Pathways Digital Imaging allows for the capture and transmission of high quality digital images of vehicle damage between collision repair facilities and insurance claims offices, reducing the need for adjuster visits to shops, and speeding claims settlement. The announcement means that over half of the nearly 14,000 repair facilities that utilize CCC's computerized collision estimating systems and communications network now have imaging capability. Jerry Seida, owner of Riverdale Body Shop, said, "We are pleased with our decision to implement Pathways Digital Imaging. It was easy to implement, learn and incorporate into our overall business processes. And with more and more insurers utilizing digital imaging, it seemed like the right time to add this capability." "PDI supports TWAIN, which enables us to link images to our software, and it provides a simple way to communicate images electronically -- a must-have for our industry today that will only increase in importance in the future," added Larry Seida, Riverdale Body Shop's manager of operations. Riverdale Body Shop has four locations in the Chicagoland area. PDI provides the ability to create and communicate an electronic claims file that contains the damage estimate and the digital images, eliminating the need for paper files and photos sent through the mail. Kelly Stephen, vice president of product development at CCC explains, "PDI enables users to simultaneously view the images, thumbnails and the damage estimate, making it easy to decide which images to send to the insurer. It also provides the ability to scan in additional documents, like police reports and towing bills, that assists users in compiling a complete and accurate file." Stephen added, "Unlike other imaging products which restrict choice of capture devices, PDI supports many digital cameras and scanners, providing maximum flexibility." CCC Information Services Inc., headquartered in Chicago, Ill., is the automotive claims industry's leading supplier of advanced software and communications systems.
