Intermet Announces Key Executive Appointment for European OperationsTROY, Mich., Dec. 15 -- Intermet Corporation Chairman and CEO John Doddridge today announced the appointment of Laurence Vine-Chatterton as President of Intermet Europe, effective January 1, 1999, with responsibility for all of Intermet's European operations. Karl-Heinz Schwarz continues as Managing Director of Intermet Holding Deutschland, GmbH. Commenting on the appointment, Doddridge said, "Laurence brings a strong background in international business to Intermet. He will be a valuable asset as we continue to expand in Europe." Mr. Vine-Chatterton comes to Intermet from T&N plc of the United Kingdom, most recently serving as Finance Director for T&N's Piston Products Group. T&N plc was recently acquired by Federal-Mogul Corporation. Additionally, he held finance positions with Nokia GmbH of Germany and Parkfield Group plc of the U.K. He began his career with Price Waterhouse in England and later in Canada for ten years. Vine-Chatterton holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Sussex in England and is a chartered accountant in England, Wales and Canada. His native language is English, and he is also fluent in both German and French. Vine-Chatterton and his family currently reside in Surrey, England. They will be relocating to Saarbrucken, Germany where Intermet will establish new Intermet European offices.
