Alamo Rent-A-Car Continues To Aggressively Expand With Location Openings In Costa Rica
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla., Dec. 15 -- Alamo Rent-A-Car, Inc. has
entered into a franchise agreement with ADA Rent A Car located in San Jose,
Costa Rica. Under terms of the agreement, all eight ADA locations throughout
the country will be converted to Alamo by January 1999. The conversions are
part of Alamo's aggressive expansion into Central America.
Locations will include offices at both the San Jose International Airport
and the Liberia International Airport, as well as three downtown locations in
San Jose. The other locations are at the popular Pacific coast beach resort
of Tamarindo and at La Fortuna, which is located near Lake Arenal and the
mountainous chain of volcanoes in the north-central part of the country.
"Alamo has a great reputation in Central America among travelers who rent
vehicles with us in the United States," said Karen Beard, President, Alamo
Rent-A-Car. "Now, Alamo will be providing the same quality product in Costa
Rica."
Costa Rica has incredible tourist potential because of its natural beauty
and its unique democracy, being one of the smallest, most peaceful and
financially stable of Central American countries. Alamo's locations in Costa
Rica will give renters a great opportunity to explore beautiful beaches,
volcanoes, mountains reaching 12,000 feet, and rivers perfect for white water
rafting. The fleet in Costa Rica offers travelers a wide choice of vehicles
including 12-passenger vans, four-wheel drive vehicles and a broad selection
of regular passenger automobiles to suit every need.
Alamo currently serves more than 15 million travelers a year through 102
locations in the United States and Canada, and more than 250 international
locations in the United Kingdom, Switzerland, The Republic of Ireland, Costa
Rica, Mexico, The Netherlands, Germany, Greece, Portugal, Malta, Slovak
Republic, Belgium and The Czech Republic.
