Winnebago Industries Receives Quality Circle Award

16 December 1998

Winnebago Industries Receives Quality Circle Award; Third Consecutive Year Award Received from RVDA
FOREST CITY, Iowa, Dec. 15 -- For the third consecutive year,
Winnebago Industries, Inc. was awarded the Recreation Vehicle Dealer
Association's (RVDA) prestigious Quality Circle Award at the annual RVIA
National RV Trade Show in Louisville, Kentucky, December 1 - 3.
Winners of the Quality Circle Award are determined by the Dealer
Satisfaction Index (DSI) survey which RVDA conducts annually. The DSI asks
dealers to rate their manufacturer's performance in five categories: sales,
product, management and service/warranty support. The results of the DSI
survey reflect nearly 1,763 individual manufacturer evaluations from 477
dealers.
"This is the third consecutive year that Winnebago Industries has earned
RVDA's Quality Circle Award," said Mike Molino, RVDA president. "Having their
dealers hold the company in such high regard is a real tribute to Winnebago
Industries' management and employees. Winnebago Industries dealers continue
to be among the most satisfied dealers in the country, according to the DSI
report."
Winnebago Industries was one of only six Quality Circle Award winners, and
one of only three motor home manufacturers to win the award.
"We're tremendously excited that we've earned this honor every year since
the inception of this award three years ago," said Jim Jaskoviak, vice
president of sales and marketing. "Every person in every position at
Winnebago Industries plays an important role in delivering quality products
and support services to our dealers. There's nothing better than having that
customer tell you you're doing a good job. Our commitment to our dealers is
that we'll never be satisfied -- there's always something we can do better,"
Jaskoviak continued.
Winnebago Industries had an especially strong showing in the areas of
keeping sales agreements current, aggressive sales promotions, quality sales
training programs, competitive product quality, and prompt service to manager
technicians.
Winnebago Industries also dominated the service, warranty and support
categories. Winnebago Industries averaged 85.7 percent in these categories --
17.8 percent higher than the average of all manufacturers included in the
survey.
Celebrating 40 years in the RV industry, Winnebago Industries has set the
industry standard for quality assurance by utilizing computer-aided design and
manufacturing systems and automotive-style assembly lines, as well as
subjecting its motor home and components to rigorous tests. Winnebago
Industries manufactures the majority of the parts used in the Company's motor
homes which allows the Company to maintain its strict quality standards,
design parts to motor home needs and easily facilitate parts replacement for
years to come. Visit Winnebago Industries on the world wide web at:
