In 1997, Superior commenced supplying aluminum components for the automotive industry. This large market has significant potential for future growth as aluminum parts can be used for suspension systems, brackets and other vehicle components, providing dramatic weight savings, reduced vibration and improved performance.
Growth in aluminum wheel sales is due to their aesthetic appeal, which has fueled customer demand and enabled manufacturers and dealers to increase profit margins. Additionally, lighter wheels improve vehicle handling, reduce chassis component wear and improve fuel economy.
Superior also supplies accessories for the automotive aftermarket, including 68 product lines, primarily distributed by major national retailers including AutoZone, Pep Boys, WalMart, Kragen, Western Auto and Napa Auto. Products include custom steel, chrome and aluminum wheels, steering wheel covers, lighting products, suspension and other accessories.
