TORRANCE, Calif., Dec. 10 -- The best-selling small car in America now offers more value to consumers with the addition of a Value Package to the Honda Civic Sedan. Available in showrooms now, the Civic Value Package comes complete with the most frequently requested convenience features at a manufacturer's suggested retail price of $14,630, a discount of $1,000.
"The Civic Value Package provides a great opportunity for Honda customers to buy a well-appointed Civic at a special price," said Dick Colliver, executive vice president of American Honda Motor Co., Inc.
The Civic Value Package includes air conditioning, AM/FM stereo with in- dash CD player, power door locks, remote entry system and a center console armrest with storage compartment. It also features body-colored bumpers and side moldings.
The Value Package comes with an electronically controlled 4-speed automatic transmission with lockup torque converter and Honda's Grade Logic Control, which selectively maintains the appropriate gear when climbing or descending hills.
The Civic Value Package is powered by a 1.6-liter, 16-valve, SOHC 4-cylinder engine that was first to meet California's tough Low Emission Vehicle (LEV) standards. EPA mileage estimates are 28/35 mpg (city/highway). Dual airbags, child safety-seat anchors and child-proof rear door locks are standard on every Civic Sedan.
There are two exterior/interior color combinations available with the Civic Value Package: Clover Green Pearl with Beige interior and Vogue Silver Metallic with Gray interior.
