Excaliber Environmental/Villa Marin Low Bidder for NYC Vehicle Conversions
NEW YORK--Dec. 8, 1998--Excaliber Environmental, a company specializing in developing and manufacturing alternative- fuel conversion systems for motor vehicles, Tuesday announced that it has been notified that the joint bid presented by Villa Marin GMC Inc. of Staten Island, N.Y., and Excaliber has resulted in Villa Marin/Excaliber being named the low bidder for alternative-fuel conversions by the city in 1999.
"We are very pleased to have won the bid for the City of New York fuel conversions in 1999. Historically, the award of similar contracts from the City of New York has resulted in orders for 350 to 400 vehicle conversions during the year. Should the City of New York order 400 kits, this would result in gross revenues of approximately $2 million," said Sandro Paterno, president of Excaliber.
"The Excaliber conversion kit is the only certified kit of its kind which qualifies to perform bi-fuel conversions for the range of engines currently used by the City of New York," he added.
Excaliber Environmental, with headquarters in Staten Island, was founded to develop bi-fuel conversion kits and regulators. The company has produced the only Environmental Protection Agency-certified bi-fuel conversion kit currently on the market.
