American Suzuki Motor Corp. Announces Pricing On All-New Two-Door and Four-Door Vitaras; 1999 Vitara Line Offers First-Rate, Yet Affordable Packages

BREA, Calif.--(AutomotiveWire)--Dec. 7, 1998--American Suzuki Motor Corp. (ASMC) Monday announced the Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) for the 1999 Two-Door and Four-Door Vitaras.
The Four-Door Vitara will arrive in dealerships by December and the Two-Door Vitara will arrive in dealerships by January 1999. In keeping with Suzuki's strategic direction, the Vitara's competitive pricing strategy parallels the company's goal to re-establish a leadership position in the small sport-utility segment while maintaining value-conscious tradition.
Setting themselves apart from their competition, the Two-Door and Four-Door Vitaras are generously equipped with a long list of standard safety, comfort, and convenience features. Tilt steering wheel, tachometer, tripmeter, cloth seats, accessory socket, automatic lighting system, daytime running lights, sun visor extensions, overhead map lights, and AM/FM stereo cassette are just a few examples of the extensive list of features included.

    Four-Door Vitara

Suzuki's all-new 1999 Four-Door Vitara brings an attractive combination of style, versatility and performance to the market -- making it a standout in a sea of SUV competitors. Suzuki sport-utility vehicles have long been renowned for their value and reliability, but with the arrival of the dynamically styled Four-Door Vitara, this vehicle will be recognized for its rugged elegance and sporty flair, as well.
The Four-Door Vitara is available in two model configurations: the two-wheel drive (2WD) JS and the four-wheel drive (4WD) JX. Both models offer the same rigid frame and advanced 5-link rear suspension to ensure a balanced, well-controlled ride.
The MSRP for the two-wheel drive Four-Door Vitara starts at $15,399 and the four-wheel drive Four-Door Vitara comes in at $16,999 equipped with a manual transmission. Automatic transmission is available on all models for $1,000. Destination and delivery charge for the Four-Door Vitara is $430 (except in Alaska, $700).

    Two-Door Vitara

The new Two-Door Vitara, Suzuki's sporty, soft-top SUV, proves that a conventional convertible isn't the only way to experience driving in the great outdoors. From its dynamic, yet sporty styling to its unique balance of performance and functionality, the Two-Door Vitara delivers a driving experience unlike that of its competition.
Like the Four-Door, the Two-Door Vitara is also available in two model configurations: the two-wheel drive (2WD) JS and the four-wheel drive (4WD) JX. Both Two-Door Models benefit from a new body structure and chassis design, which contribute significantly to its refined ride quality and responsive handling.
    The Two-Door soft-top Vitara is available with either a 1.6-liter, 16-valve, four-cylinder SOHC engine or a 2.0-liter, 16-valve, four-cylinder DOHC engine.
The MSRP for the two-wheel drive 1.6-liter Two-Door Vitara starts at $13,499 with a manual transmission and the two-wheel drive 2.0-liter Two-Door Vitara starts at $14,299, also equipped with a manual transmission. The four-wheel drive 1.6-liter Two-Door Vitara is priced at $15,299 with a manual transmission and the four-wheel drive 2.0-liter Two-Door Vitara starts at $16,099, also equipped with a manual transmission. Destination and delivery charge for the Two-Door Vitara is $420 (except in Alaska, $700).
