Goodyear Names New TreasurerAKRON, Ohio, Dec. 7 -- Stephanie W. Bergeron, currently assistant treasurer, corporate finance with DaimlerChrysler, will be joining The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. as vice president and treasurer, Goodyear Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer Robert W. Tieken announced today. Bergeron has been in her present position since November 1994 with responsibility for Chrysler's treasury planning including capital markets transactions, corporate cash and foreign exchange, securities trading and banking operations, and corporate bank relations. She also served on the Chrysler Fund Board of Trustees. "Stephanie Bergeron brings a wealth of treasury and industry experience to this position, and we look forward to her joining us on Dec. 29," Tieken said. A native of Highland Park, Mich., Bergeron earned an undergraduate degree in business administration from the University of Michigan and a master's degree in business administration from the University of Detroit. In addition to Chrysler, Bergeron was with Arthur Anderson & Co. for two years and joined General Motors in 1977, where she held various financial positions. Bergeron joined Chrysler in July 1988 as assistant general auditor and was appointed general auditor that September. In June 1990, she was named manufacturing group controller and three years later, finance director, corporate financial activities. In addition to serving on the board of trustees of Walsh College in Troy, Mich., she is on the board for the Detroit Chapter of the Financial Executives Institute. Bergeron also is on the Behavioral Services Board of Trustees of the Henry Ford Health System. Bergeron succeeds Richard W. Hauman, who will join Goodyear's Tredcor operation in Capetown, South Africa, on Jan. 1 and will become managing director of the company's Contred subsidiary on July 1, 1999. Bergeron is married with two children, and the family presently resides in West Bloomfield, Mich.
