WESTMONT, Ill.--Dec. 7, 1998----Aaron's Automotive Products Presented with Chrysler
Highest Honor for Suppliers--
Aftermarket Technology Corp. today announced that its wholly owned subsidiary, Aaron's Automotive Products, has been awarded Chrysler's Platinum Pentastar award for superior performance during 1998.
With the Platinum Pentastar, Chrysler recognizes its top suppliers for outstanding performance in the areas of customer service, parts quality, competitive pricing, delivery, service, and Chrysler's SCORE program for cost reduction.
Aaron's was one of fourteen suppliers worldwide to receive the Platinum Pentastar in ceremonies last week at DaimlerChrysler Corporation's co-headquarters in Auburn Hills, Michigan. It is the fourth consecutive year that Aaron's has earned the prestigious honor, making Aaron's one of only six suppliers to have received the Platinum Pentastar each year since the award's inception.
"We are honored to receive this award for a fourth consecutive year," commented Stephen Perkins, Chairman, President, and CEO of Aftermarket Technology. "There is no greater recognition than to be chosen as a leading supplier to one of the world's premier automotive manufacturers."
The Platinum Pentastar reflects the most demanding standards of Chrysler's Supplier Rating Process, in which thousands of direct and indirect suppliers are ranked according to their level of contribution to Chrysler's Extended Enterprise System. Aaron's, a leading remanufacturer of drive train assemblies, was the first remanufacturer to receive Chrysler's Gold Pentastar award in 1993 and is the only remanufacturer to earn the Platinum Pentastar award since its inception in 1995.
