North American Sales of Meritor Automotive, Inc Names Kline

Dennis A. Kline Named Vice President, Heavy Vehicle Systems, North American Sales of Meritor Automotive, Inc.
    TROY, Mich. Dec. 4 -- Meritor Automotive, Inc.
today announced the appointment of Dennis A. Kline to vice president, North
American Sales for Heavy Vehicle Systems (HVS).
    He succeeds James H. Brown, who after 28 years of combined service with
Rockwell Automotive and Meritor Automotive, has announced his intent to retire
from the company effective January 1, 1999.
    According to Prakash Mulchandani, president of HVS, Kline will be
responsible for developing and implementing strategic initiatives to achieve
further sales growth in North America.  In Kline's organization will be Joe
Kirby, director, National Accounts; Bill Walther, director, Field Operations;
Frank Palmeri, director, Strategic Marketing and Drivetrain Integration; Kay
Grayson, manager, Customer Support; and a to be announced General Manager OEM
Sales.
    "Dennis brings to his new role a wealth of sales experience and extremely
strong customer relationships within the trucking industry.  He will be a key
contributor in positioning our business for continued growth and success,"
said Mulchandani.
    Kline has 23 years of sales and marketing experience with the company.
Most recently, he served as general manager, OEM sales and previously directed
sales and marketing activities within the Transmission business as well as the
former Automotive Electronics business.
    Kline holds a Bachelor's degree in fine arts and industrial design from
Michigan State University, East Lansing, Mich.
    Meritor, with 1998 sales of more than $3.8 billion, is a global supplier
of a broad range of components and systems for commercial, specialty and light
vehicle OEMs and the aftermarket.  Meritor consists of two businesses: Heavy
Vehicle Systems, a leading supplier of drivetrain systems and components for
medium- and heavy-duty trucks, trailers and off-highway equipment and
specialty vehicles, including military, bus and coach, and fire and rescue;
and Light Vehicle Systems, a major supplier of roof, door, access control,
suspension and seat adjusting systems and wheels for passenger cars, light
trucks and sport utility vehicles.
