Federal-Mogul Announces Organizational Structure, Lighting Products

    SOUTHFIELD, Mich., Dec. 3 -- Frank Tomes, executive vice
president, General Products, Federal-Mogul Corporation , announces
the new organizational structure for lighting products with the following
appointments effective immediately:
    *  James T. Boyd, director, operations
    *  William F. Buchman, vice president, sales and marketing
    *  Richard A. Kurt, director, human resources
    *  Mario Machado, general manager, Federal-Mogul Electrical do Brasil
    *  Barry Whipple, director, finance

    All appointments will report to Terry Graessle, vice president, lighting
products.
    "We are delighted to have been able to put together a team of such talent
and experience," said Tomes.

    James (Jim) T. Boyd, Director, Operations
    Jim Boyd has been appointed director, operations.
    Prior to this appointment, Boyd held the position of vice president,
operations, lighting products, Cooper Automotive.  Boyd spent over 30 years
with Cooper and held positions in operations including plant manager,
Boyerstown, Pennsylvania, having been promoted from manufacturing manager.
Prior to this, Boyd held positions including director of distribution, manager
special projects and director of materials.
    Boyd earned a Master of Business Administration degree from Vanderbilt
University, Nashville, Tennessee and a Bachelor of Science degree from
Southeast Missouri State University.

    William (Bill) F. Buchman, Vice President, Sales and Marketing
    Bill Buchman has been appointed vice president, sales and marketing.
    Prior to this appointment, Buchman held the position of director of sales,
lighting products, Cooper Automotive.  Prior to joining Cooper, Buchman built
up extensive experience in a variety of sales and engineering positions with
Packard Electric Division of General Motors.
    Buchman earned a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering from
Youngstown State University, Youngstown, Ohio.

    Richard (Rick) A. Kurt, Director, Human Resources
    Rick Kurt has been appointed director, human resources.
    Prior to this appointment, Kurt held the position of director of human
resources, North American operations, lighting products, Cooper Automotive.
Kurt established himself in employee relations with positions including
director of employee relations and manager, employee relations.  Kurt held a
number of plant human resource positions within Cooper Industries Inc. before
moving to Cooper Automotive.
    Kurt earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Indiana University of
Pennsylvania.

    Mario Machado, General Manager, Federal-Mogul do Brasil
    Mario Machado is appointed general manager, Federal-Mogul do Brasil.
    Machado joined Federal-Mogul from Cooper Automotive, which he joined in
January 1998, having previously been managing director of Lucas do Brasil -
Lighting.  He has been general manager of Kostal Mercosur and held several
senior positions with Allied Signal do Brasil.

    Barry Whipple, Director, Finance
    Barry Whipple has been appointed director, finance.
    Prior to this appointment, Whipple held the position of director, business
analyst and international treasury, Cooper Automotive, having been promoted
from manager, business analyst and international treasury and previously,
operations analyst (corporate office).  Prior to moving to corporate
responsibilities, Whipple held the position of manager, business analysis and
planning with Wagner Lighting Division and also held the position of plant
controller.
    Whipple earned a Master of Business Administration from the University of
Tennessee and a Bachelor of Science degree in mathematics from Bloomsburg
University in Pennsylvania.
