Bayer Corporation Announces New Therban Team

AKRON, Ohio--(AutomotiveWire)--Dec. 3, 1998--Bayer Corporation's Fibers, Additives and Rubber (FAR) Division has announced the formation of the Therban(R) Team -- a cross-disciplinary group of 22 select individuals within the Bayer FAR Division singularly committed to promoting the company's high-performance specialty elastomer.
Therban hydrogenated nitrile rubber (HNBR), invented and patented by Bayer, gives products superior performance and durability in applications where extreme temperatures, fuel, oil, ozone or abrasion exists.
"We're marketing Therban through an entirely new, bottom-up strategy that's consistent in its message and comprehensive in its scope," said Brian D. McCue, business manager for Therban. He describes the team's mission as growing the customer base for Therban by increasing its share of the existing HNBR market and by identifying new applications for the product. "Using every possible method available to us, the Therban Team will demonstrate the distinct differences between the HNBR products and communicate that there are clear, overwhelming reasons for customers to specify Therban in their buying decisions."
The Therban Team draws on skills ranging from manufacturing, technical innovation and research and development to sales and marketing. The level of cooperation and interaction among team members is seen as a key advantage in communicating the Therban message to the automotive (seals, gaskets, belts and O-rings), aerospace and petroleum industries and to manufacturers of wire and cable, coatings, rolls and coverings.
