Universal Automotive Industries, Inc. Announces Appointment of James Shekarchi As President - Canadian Operations
    CHICAGO, Dec. 2 -- Universal Automotive Industries, Inc.
today announced that James Shekarchi
has been appointed President of Universal Brake Parts-Canada effective
December 15, 1998.  UBP is a leading manufacturer of brake parts in the
automotive aftermarket with distribution centers located in the United States
and Canada.
    Mr. Shekarchi has held management positions of increasing importance for
the last ten years in the automotive industry.  He most recently served as
Vice President, Sales and Marketing for G.K.I. as well as Director of AQM
Automotive Corporation.  His responsibilities included all aspects of
operations including administration, new product development, and strategic
planning.  Mr. Shekarchi has a B.S. degree in Economics from the Wharton
School at the University of Pennsylvania.
