Honda Odyssey Story Detailed at SAE December Meeting - New Minivan Hits a HomerDETROIT, Dec. 2 -- The Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) Detroit Section delivers the inside story on the 1999 Honda Odyssey minivan. The dinner meeting presentation kicks off with a vehicle overview by Kunimichi Odagaki, Honda's Large Project Leader, who will also detail the Odyssey's development story. Charles Chadwick, Senior Vice President of Honda of Canada Manufacturing, will discuss Odyssey's innovative manufacturing process which enabled Honda to achieve their shortest production ramp-up ever -- from zero to full production on one shift in just 87 days! Join SAE as they explore the making of the Odyssey, Tuesday, December 8 at the Burton Manor, 27777 Schoolcraft, in Livonia. A social hour, sponsored by Honda, begins at 5:30 p.m., followed by dinner at 6:30 p.m.; the presentation starts promptly at 7:30 p.m. Reservations are required and can be obtained by calling the SAE Detroit Section at 248-357-3340.
