American Suzuki Motor Corp. Announces November Sales and Best Year-To-Date Since 1988; Looking Forward to Another Strong Year for 1999

BREA, Calif.--(AutomotiveWire)--Dec. 1, 1998--American Suzuki
Motor Corp. (ASMC) reported U.S. sales of 2,823 for the month of
November, representing a 34% increase in its monthly sales compared
with 2,104 in 1997.
American Suzuki boasts the best year-to-date since 1988 with
35,106 automobiles sold representing a 31% increase over the same
period last year.
Looking ahead to next year, the Four-Door Vitara and Two-Door
Vitara will be arriving into dealerships in early 1999 and the Esteem
line will soon be replaced with a more powerful 1.8-liter engine in
March. American Suzuki anticipates continued interest and strong sales
for 1999, led by the new V6 Grand Vitara.
"Demand is solid, dealer inventories are growing and consumer
interest is strong -- making 1998 a big year for us and 1999 should be
another strong year," said Gary Anderson, vice president sales and
marketing, American Suzuki Motor Corp.
The Automotive Division of American Suzuki Motor Corp. (ASMC),
Brea, was founded in 1985 by Suzuki Motor Corp. (SMC). ASMC markets
automobiles in the United States through a network of 300 automotive
dealerships in 49 states.
ASMC's parent company, Suzuki Motor Corp., based in Hamamatsu,
Japan, is a diversified worldwide automobile manufacturer. Founded in
1920, SMC has 134 distributors in 175 countries.
