Wheels Names Barker Client Services VPDES PLAINES, Ill., Dec. 1 -- Wheels, a leader in fleet vehicle management, has named David Barker Vice President of Client Services. In his new position, Barker will be responsible for directing a staff of more than 100 account management professionals as they support the complex fleet management needs of Wheels' clients. Barker is the company's first VP of Client Services with a background in computer technology. Previously, he served as Wheels' Director of Client Products and was responsible for software products and information systems currently used by Wheels clients and employees. "We're pleased David has accepted this position," says Wheels President Jim Frank. "We expect new developments in our computer technology will play an increasing role in how we provide information and service to our clients and their drivers. David's 25 years of management expertise, combined with his background in information technology, make him invaluable in this process." Before joining Wheels, Barker held management positions with Ford Aerospace, Boeing, and The Singer Company's Link Simulation Systems Division. While employed by Singer-Link, he directed critical informational functions for NASA that supported both Mission Control and the Space Shuttle command and control operations. He was also a Platoon Sergeant with the U.S. Army in Vietnam. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Aerospace Technology from the University of Washington. Wheels, Inc., which pioneered the concept of auto leasing in 1939, provides a full range of specialized services to help corporations manage their fleet vehicles. Wheels, which has 550 employees, manages more than 170,000 vehicles. Its holding company, Frank Consolidated Enterprises, currently ranks as one of the largest private companies in the U.S., with more than $1 billion in revenues.
