Textron Automotive Company Strengthens Ties With DaimlerChrysler; New Facility Focused On Integration and Technology
    TROY, Mich., Dec. 1 -- Textron Automotive Company - Trim
Division today announced that it is constructing a new 87,000-square-foot
DaimlerChrysler Integration and Advanced Technology Center located in Auburn
Hills, Michigan.
    The Center will house all Textron Automotive Trim/DaimlerChrysler interior
and exterior trim product design and development, program management and
Textron/DaimlerChrysler dedicated executive staff.  In addition, Advanced
Technology and Benchmarking activities will be located at the Center.
    The Integration Center will accommodate Textron Trim, DaimlerChrysler and
Extended Enterprise supply partners committed to new program vehicle
development with offices, design studio and a secured mock-up area for product
development.
    Occupancy is planned for March 1999.
