Chopper Express Announces Major Logistics Contract with Ford Motor Company
MONTVILLE, N.J., Dec. 1 -- Chopper Express, Inc. announces an
agreement with Ford Motor Company for the provision of a major
dedicated logistics operation in New Jersey.
The new multi-year contract will be based at the Ford Customer Service
Division's New York Parts Distribution Center (PDC) in Teterboro, N.J. Using
both their own dedicated fleet and freight management with affiliated
logistics partners, Chopper will manage the delivery of the aftermarket
service parts to over 500 Ford dealerships throughout the Northeast and
Mid-Atlantic regions.
Chopper has had a business relationship with Ford at the New York PDC for
18 years, providing dedicated delivery service to Ford and Lincoln-Mercury
dealers in Connecticut. Although lesser known than some of the other
logistics providers considered for the New York contract, Chopper demonstrated
their creativity and experience in this business by presenting innovative
solutions. "The mix of creativity, logistics technology, and a cost-effective
solution were key determinants in expanding Chopper's role as a logistics
service provider to Ford," says Joe Guttilla, Chopper Express Chairman and
CEO.
Chopper Express has quietly become one of the leading specialists in the
automotive parts logistics industry. Privately owned by Joe Guttilla, the
company has an impressive list of automotive clients. "All our efforts have
been on delivering excellent operational service," says Mr. Guttilla. "I have
always believed our business would grow from our special approach to this and
from really understanding the automotive parts logistics business. I am very
proud that Ford has expended our relationship."
