Two Participants Selected for Volvo Training Program
    ROCKLEIGH, N.J., Nov. 30 -- Lisa Young of Toronto and Joakim
Johncke of New York have been selected to represent Volvo Cars of North
America in the 1999 Volvo Global Management Development Program.
    This program is designed to develop a new generation of world-class
leaders who have the potential to contribute to future successes within Volvo
Car Corporation.  Training lasts fourteen months and includes two five-month
placements in Volvo offices abroad.  Cross-cultural and cross-functional
learning and working are emphasized, along with personal and team development.
Foreign language skills and work experience are among the criteria used for
candidate selection.

    The Participants
    Lisa Young began her career at Volvo Canada, Ltd. in March 1995 where she
assisted VCL's president and acted as Environmental Project Leader.  In
January 1996, Lisa was relocated to the United States for her current
position, Aftermarket Pricing Specialist.  Before coming to Volvo, she worked
as an Environmental Consultant focusing on Infrastructure and Waste Water
Treatment studies in outside suburban areas of Toronto.  Lisa holds a BA in
Geography and Environmental Studies from Carleton University in Ottawa,
Ontario.
    Joakim Johncke has also been with Volvo since 1995.  He presently serves
as Product Support Specialist for Volvo's Northeast Region, responsible for
retailer education and for providing support on Volvo product offerings.  He
has also held the position of  Planning Analyst, which involved sales
forecasting and analysis of regional financial operations.  Prior to Volvo,
Joakim worked in retailer customer relations in Gothenburg, Sweden.  He holds
a BS in International Business from Johnson and Wales University in Rhode
Island.
    Ten other participants from around the world have also been selected for
this program, which will begin in February 1999.  Presently, the group is
meeting for orientation in Gothenburg, Sweden.
