World's Leading Supplier of Wheels and Brakes Receives Contract From General Motors for the All New 1999 Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra

    ROMULUS, Mich.--Nov. 24, 1998--Hayes Lemmerz International, Inc. , the world's leading supplier of wheels and brake components to the transportation industry, today announced that it had received a multi-million dollar contract to supply four fabricated wheels for the new 1999 Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra full-size pickup from General Motors .
    The contract, from General Motors Truck Group, based in Pontiac, Michigan, calls for four different wheel styles, including full-face steel painted and chrome-clad wheels. Shipments began in June 1998.
    The wheels will be produced at the Hayes Lemmerz plant in Sedalia, Missouri.
