Selas Receives $4 Million Order From French Aluminum Producer
    DRESHER, Pa., Nov. 18 -- Selas Corporation of America
(Amex: SLS) announced today that it has received an order from Pechiney, an
aluminum manufacturer in Issoire, France to lengthen an existing roller
furnace used in the heat treating of aluminum plates.  The order came through
Selas subsidiary, CFR, and is valued at approximately $4 million.
    "CFR is one of the leaders in designing and producing furnaces for the
production of aluminum," said Stephen F. Ryan, President and Chief Executive
Officer of Selas.  "The Pechiney project calls for modification of a furnace
built by CFR in 1989.  Once completed, the Pechiney furnace will be one of the
largest in the world."
    According to Ryan, the project is scheduled for completion in January,
1999.
    Selas is a diversified firm with international operations and sales that
engages in the design, development, engineering and manufacturing of a range
of products including precision electronic components and assemblies, heat
processing equipment and systems, and cable winch products.
