Detroit Pump Announces ISO 9001 Quality Program Certification
          Company Achieves Most Comprehensive of ISO 9000 Standards

    DETROIT, Nov. 18 -- A.H. "Joe" Schwab, President of Detroit
Pump & Mfg. Co., has announced the company's successful achievement of ISO
9001 compliance.  ISO 9001 is the most comprehensive of the ISO 9000
international quality standards.
    Schwab credited a total company effort to Detroit Pumps' successful
certification.  "Our quality team led by Ray Macey, operations manager, kept
us focused during the year-long effort," Schwab added.
    "We believe the effort necessary to achieve ISO 9001 will provide
significant benefits to our customers in the automotive, manufacturing,
municipal, chemical, water resources, and construction industries," Schwab
said.
    Michigan Quality Improvement provided quality program counsel and
successfully guided the company's quality program implementation.  NSF-ISR
International registered Detroit Pump & Mfg. Co. for its ISO 9001 compliance.
