Toyota Motor Sales Issues Statement on Formation of New Automotive AllianceTORRANCE, Calif., Nov. 17 -- The following statement is issued by Toyota Motor Sales (TMS), U.S.A., Inc., in response to the formation of a new automotive alliance to replace the American Automobile Manufacturers Association (AAMA). It may be attributed to Yale Gieszl, TMS executive vice president: "Toyota will become a full member in the new automotive alliance because of our large and growing U.S. presence and because we believe there are many pressing issues in the United States and the world that automakers must tackle together. At the same time, Toyota will maintain a full membership in the Association of International Automobile Manufacturers (AIAM) because of the wide range of important services it provides to its members."
