    ANDERSON, Ind., Nov. 17 -- Delco Remy International, Inc.
Board of Directors has announced the first major organizational
changes since the company formed August 1, 1994.  Thomas J. Snyder, president
and chief operating officer of Delco Remy International, made the following
announcements.  The Board has elected Richard L. Stanley to the position of
president, Delco Remy America (DRA), a position formerly held by Snyder.
Stanley will continue to serve as general manager of Automotive Systems
Division.  Roderick English was elected to the position of senior vice
president of Human Resources and Communications for Delco Remy International
(DRI).  Delco Remy International is the parent holding company of Delco Remy
America.  DRA is the largest subsidiary of DRI, producing starters and
alternators globally for original equipment manufacturers and marketing Delco
Remy brand Aftermarket products.
    Richard L. Stanley most recently served as senior vice president Delco
Remy America.  He began his career with DRA on August 1, 1994 when he joined a
group of Delco Remy management and outside investors in a leveraged buyout of
a portion of the former GM Division.
    Born in Anderson, Stanley graduated from Madison Heights High School,
Anderson, Indiana in 1974.  He continued his education at Rose-Hulman
Institute of Technology where he earned a bachelor of science degree in
mechanical engineering in 1978.  In 1987, he graduated from Kettering
University (formerly GMI Engineering and Management Institute) with a master
of science degree in manufacturing management.
    Stanley began his career with the former Delco Remy Division of General
Motors in 1978.  His responsibilities included various engineering,
manufacturing and sales assignments of increasing responsibility.  In 1988, he
was assigned as the European chief engineer located in Bascharage, Luxembourg.
    In 1991, he moved to the Delco Remy sales office in Troy, Michigan where
he managed the Powertrain customer support group.  He advanced in 1992 to
director of Customer Program Management.
    His professional affiliations include the American Society of Mechanical
Engineers, the Society of Automotive Engineers and the Engineering Society of
Detroit.  He was recognized by Rose-Hulman in 1997 when he was named
Distinguished Young Alumni.  Stanley is Chairman of the Board of Directors of
the Chamber of Commerce for Anderson and Madison County.
    Roderick English was appointed senior vice president of Human Resources
and Communications for DRA on August 1, 1994.  He has also served, since the
company's formation, as a member of the DRA Strategy Board, the senior
operating leadership group.
    English has served in several manufacturing and Human Resources roles
during his career.  He became a production supervisor for the Delco Remy
Division of General Motors in 1976.  In 1977, his responsibilities grew to
include supervisor of Labor Relations for Divisional Personnel.  He next
advanced to supervisor of Personnel Administration for the Muncie, Indiana
battery plant and in 1987 to personnel director for the Heavy Duty Systems
Division.  In 1989, he joined Divisional Personnel as manager of Labor
Relations and was promoted to a plant manager position for Heavy Duty Systems
Division in 1992, a position he held until joining DRA.
    He has received several honors and awards including the Outstanding
Professional Award by Indiana Wesleyan University, Outstanding Young Men of
America Award for professional and community achievements and the President's
Award from the Anderson Black Expo Chapter of Indiana Black Expo.
    John W. Gladney has been promoted to DRA vice president of manufacturing
operations.  His responsibilities will include a position on the DRA Strategy
Board.
    He joined DRA as plant manager of Meridian, Mississippi operations on
April 1, 1997.  He has over 20 years of management experience in financial and
manufacturing environments.  He most recently served as corporate director of
manufacturing operations for all Anderson locations.
    A graduate of Southern University with a bachelor of science degree in
accounting, he spent his early years as plant controller and internal auditor
and accounting supervisor for General Cable Company and Bendix Corporation,
respectively.
    He held several positions within United Technologies Automotive.  These
included division manager of cost and pricing, plant manager and a key role in
the successful acquisition of two foreign subsidiaries.  He also served as
plant manager for Input Control Division in St. Matthews, South Carolina and
plant manager and general manager of Interior Systems Division in St. Louis,
Missouri.
    Kelly M. Bischoff has been named corporate director of DRA Human Resources
and Labor Relations.  Bischoff joined DRA on October 26, 1998.  He was
formerly director of Labor Relations for Bath Iron Works, a subsidiary of
General Dynamics Corporation.  In addition to overseeing the Labor Relations
operations for nine facilities, he also served on the senior strategic
planning team for developing policy and pursuing new business opportunities.
    Prior to his employment at Bath Iron Works, Bischoff was employed by
General Dynamics Land Systems as the division's manager of Human Resources for
Labor Relations.  There, he determined policy, participated in strategic
planning and oversaw Labor Relations and employment activities for seven
facilities.  He held several Human Resources positions for the company.
    Bischoff also earned experience as a union representative for the
University of Connecticut Professional Employees Association.  He was
responsible for negotiations, contract administration and legislative
activities.
    Bischoff began his career with General Dynamics as a Labor Relations
representative at the Detroit Arsenal Tank Plant.  He earned a bachelor of
arts degree in employee relations at Michigan State University and a master of
science degree in Labor Relations at the University of Massachusetts.

motors for automotive, light-duty truck, marine, heavy-duty vehicles,
agricultural, construction and power generation applications in the U.S.
Additionally, the company designs, manufactures, remanufactures and
distributes electrical, fuel system, transmissions, engines, traction control
systems, powertrain/drivetrain and related components.  The company serves the
aftermarket and the original equipment manufacturer market principally in
North America as well as in Europe, Latin America and Asia Pacific.
