Exide Announces Resignation of Board Member
READING, Pa., Nov. 13 -- Exide Corporation
regretfully announces that medical concerns have triggered the resignation of
Arthur R. Taylor as a member of the Company's Board of Directors. Mr. Taylor
has served on Exide's Board since 1993 and was a member of its Executive and
Audit Committees. In recent weeks, these medical concerns have curtailed his
personal and business activities.
"Ron Taylor brought a wealth of financial and analytical experience,
tempered with solid business judgment and a droll sense of humor to the Board
and the Committees. His contributions to the Company can only be fully
appreciated by those of us who had the privilege of working with him. He will
be missed," said Tom Reilly, Exide Board and Audit Committee member.
Exide Corporation with over $2.2 billion in sales is the world's leading
manufacturer of automotive and industrial lead-acid batteries. The Company
has operations in 19 countries worldwide with significant additional interest
in elated technologies, including charters, accessories, starters, and
alternators. Further information about Exide's businesses and products are
