B.A.T. Terminates Relationship With World Transportation Authority

13 November 1998

B.A.T. Terminates Relationship With World Transportation Authority Inc.
CHULA VISTA, Calif., Nov. 12 -- BAT (OTC Bulletin Board:
BAAT) announced that two of its subsidiary companies have terminated their
relationships with World Transportation Authority, Inc. (WTA), a division of
C.A.R. LTD (OTC Bulletin Board: CARHF).
The termination was the result of a long series of alleged
misrepresentations and wrongful conduct by WTA in connection with the purchase
of a turnkey auto plant from WTA by B.A.T subsidiaries. Pursuant to the
termination, B.A.T. is moving forward with its many vehicle development and
manufacturing programs. The termination will not affect the ongoing
production of B.A.T.'s composite pickup trucks now being produced at the Otay
Mesa auto production plan in Tijuana, Mexico, which is 80% owned by B.A.T.
subsidiary companies.
Since the beginning of its production in August, 1998, the Otay Mesa plant
has added many auto craftsman to its staff which now numbers 30 employees.
Numerous facility improvements have been added to the plant and the design of
the composite pickup has been modified to streamline production methods and
improve vehicle design and assembly. The Otay Mesa plant is free of any debt
service with all tenant improvements and production equipment paid in full.
The plant currently manufactures gas, propane and electric-powered vehicles as
well as a new line of diesel powered pickups.
In addition to these recent R&D and manufacturing achievements, B.A.T's
new version of the composite pickup has proven to be extremely durable and
tough as indicated by the preliminary crash test results conducted on November
4th at CRASH98, the international automotive safety conference sponsored by
Texas Engineering Extension Service/Texas A&M University System. The crash
test results were very positive and will be publicly released soon.
All composite vehicle models retail between $6,800 and $8,800 (dollar US)
and are available for delivery worldwide. For additional information and
sales inquiries, please contact Joe LaStella at 619-409-8977.
BAT International is organized as a holding company with major ownership
positions in a set of subsidiary companies now commercializing advanced
automotive and energy technology products developed by BAT over the last six
years. This includes electric vehicles, super-efficient or high-powered
engines, advanced batteries and power electronics, electric bicycles and
scooters, super anti-friction additives, and electric power generation. (For
