Comdisco, Inc. Announces a Major Worldwide Agreement to Provide Global Technology Services to Michelin Group

    ROSEMONT, Ill.--Nov. 12, 1998--Comdisco, Inc. announced today that it has entered into a six-year global asset management services agreement with Michelin Group, the worldwide leading tire manufacturer.
    The aim of the program is for Michelin to rollout a consistent worldwide infrastructure of networked workstations, and of related services with proper monitoring and control of the total cost of ownership while reducing the overall technological risk.
    Under the contract, Comdisco will provide Michelin with asset management services, including a Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) assessment, process review and implementation, and ongoing measurement and reporting. Michelin will license Comdisco's asset repository software to collect the data for the TCO assessment.
    In addition, Comdisco will provide Michelin with a global financial facility and remarketing for all desktop IT equipment (primarily PCs, servers and printers) in up to 40 countries worldwide in order to accommodate users' needs with the service delivered.

    Comdisco will manage the Michelin business through Promodata, its company located in Paris, and will deliver the services through its own staff and through partners.
