    MIAMI, Nov. 6 -- Toyota's three Mobile-area dealers today
reported a 10-percent climb in October retail car sales over the year-ago
month.
Mobile-area dealers include Airport Toyota, Springhill Toyota and Bob
Tyler Toyota in Pensacola.
In the five-state region served by Southeast Toyota Distributors, Inc.,
retail car sales advanced 12 percent over October 1997.
Southeast-area sales leaders for October include the Camry sedan, up eight
percent over the year-ago month; Avalon, up 35 percent and Sienna, up 44
percent. Each of these three models is built at Toyota's $4.5-billion

"Today's consumers are more discerning and better informed than ever,"
said Southeast Toyota General Manager John Williams. "Quality craftsmanship
and reliability, hallmarks of Toyota's award-winning Kentucky plant, really do
drive showroom traffic."
