Auto Retailing on the Web Conference Update
METUCHEN, N.J.--Nov. 6, 1998--Automotive Internet retailing services, research firms, and Web site development consultants have joined the list of speakers in the first ever, comprehensive gathering for this fast-growing market segment.
These industry experts will present their views before a diverse group of conference attendees including the major automotive manufacturers, Internet referral companies, advertising agencies, Web developers, and a large contingent of auto dealers -- including AutoNation USA, the country's largest car dealership group. More than 170 are registered to attend.
A total of 12 speakers will examine the state of Internet automobile retailing. Many will offer practical "how to" advice to assist car dealers and manufacturers in taking full advantage of this new marketing medium.
Late additions to the speakers list include John Holt of DealerNet one of the original Internet buying services. Mr. Holt's Cobalt Group in Seattle recently acquired DealerNet from computer services giant Reynolds & Reynolds.
Also on the program is Peter Ill of Trader Publishing and general manager of traderonline.com, a used-car listing Web site.
The conference will be held at the Renaissance Nashville Hotel on November 16 and 17.
