Rockwell Automation Completes Acquisition of Anorad Corporation
    Strategic Move Makes Rockwell Automation World Leader in Linear Motor
                            Technology and Systems

    MILWAUKEE, Nov. 5 -- Automation leader Rockwell Automation, a
business of Rockwell , announced today it has completed the
acquisition of Anorad Corporation of Hauppauge, N.Y., the world leader in
linear motor-based precision positioning equipment.  Acquiring Anorad
immediately positions Rockwell Automation as the global market share leader in
linear motor technology, which is emerging as an optimal choice in automated
linear manufacturing applications, replacing traditional rotary motors.
    Rockwell Automation announced on Sept. 8, 1998, its intent to purchase
Anorad.  Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
    Anorad joins Rockwell Automation's Motion and Information Group, headed by
John McDermott, senior vice president, and will remain in its Hauppauge
headquarters, led by Amir Chitayat, president.  Anorad will continue to sell
its linear motor components and systems through its current sales channels.
Anwar Chitayat, Anorad's chief executive officer, has been named vice
president and chief technical officer of Rockwell Automation's Motion and
Information Group.  Work is already underway to leverage the competencies of
both organizations to develop new opportunities in positioning and motion
control systems that incorporate linear motor technology.

    Rockwell is a global electronic controls and communications company with
