Exide Completes Search for Treasurer; David H. Kelly Joins Exide November 9, 1998READING, Pa., Nov. 5 -- Exide Corporation , the world's leading manufacturer of lead-acid batteries, has announced today that David H. Kelly has been appointed Vice President-Treasurer. Mr. Kelly joins Exide from Trigen Energy Corporation, a leading thermal sciences company that develops, owns and operates commercial and industrial energy systems. As Vice President-Finance and CFO, he had broad management responsibility for lender and investor relations, financing, accounting and SEC reporting, and tax planning. Prior to Trigen, he had a long-standing career at Air Products and Chemicals in Allentown, Pennsylvania. After a series of promotions within the Treasury Department, including serving as European Treasurer for three years, Mr. Kelly became the Vice President-Treasurer of this $5 billion industrial gas and specialty chemicals company. David Kelly holds an MBA in Finance from the Krannert School of Purdue University and obtained a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Bucknell University. He also attended Dartmouth's Tuck Senior Executive Program.
