New Manager Named For Mazda North American Operations

Shari Gold Named Manager, Corporate Communications For Mazda North American Operations    
    IRVINE, Calif., Nov. 4 -- Mazda North America Operations
(MNAO) has named Shari L. Gold Manager of Corporate Communications.  Gold will
serve as liaison between MNAO and the Mazda Information Bureau.  Other
responsibilities include managing corporate contributions, overseeing internal
communications and managing the company's media relations activities.
    Gold, who reports to Jay Amestoy, vice president of Public and Government
Affairs, joins MNAO after serving as Public Relations Manager, Automotive
Division, for American Suzuki Motor Corporation, where she was responsible for
development and management of all corporate public relations policies,
programs and issues involving the automotive division.
    Prior to her employment at American Suzuki Motor Corporation, Gold was the
Marketing Communications Specialist for the Society of Critical Care Medicine
where she developed external communications and direct marketing programs to
increase critical care and educational awareness.  Gold also worked for the
Huntington Beach Chamber of Commerce as the Director of
Communications/Programs.

    Gold received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Public Relations and Bachelor
of Science degree in Marketing from California State University, Long Beach.
    Mazda North American Operations is responsible for the research and
development, sales and marketing, and customer parts and service support of
Mazda vehicles in the United States.  MNAO has approximately 800 dealerships
nationwide and is owned by Mazda Motor Corporation, Hiroshima, Japan.
