Infiniti Reports October Sales; Performance Marks Best October in Division History
CARSON, Calif., Nov. 3 -- Infiniti, the luxury division of
Nissan Motor Corporation U.S.A. (NMC), reported October sales of 6,689
units -- its best October performance in division history. Total division
sales increased 14.5 percent versus last year.
Leading the division in sales for the second consecutive month was the
Infiniti I30 luxury sedan, with sales of 2,588 units, up 8.6 percent versus
last year. The G20 luxury sports sedan, new to showrooms in August,
maintained solid launch momentum with 1,698 units retailed in October.
The Q45, which received numerous enhancements for the 1999 model year, had
sales of 611 units despite limited availability. The QX4 luxury sport utility
vehicle recorded sales of 1,756 units during October, up 5.7 percent over last
month.
Calendar year-to-date sales for Infiniti totaled 50,401 units, down
7.5 percent from the same period last year. Total NMC sales for October,
including Nissan and Infiniti, were 47,608 units. Combined calendar
year-to-date sales for Nissan and Infiniti Divisions were 522,725 units.
