Felrice Joins Chrysler's Washington Affairs Staff
    WASHINGTON, Nov. 3 -- Chrysler Corporation today
announced the appointment of Barry Felrice, as Manager - Safety Affairs,
Chrysler Corporation, Washington DC, effective January 1, 1999.  Since 1996,
Felrice has served as Director for Regulatory Affairs at the American
Automobile Manufacturers Association.  He brings to Chrysler more than 25
years experience at the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA)
and the Federal Highway Administration.
    "Barry has excellent relationships within the industry, with NHTSA, and
with the insurance industry and safety advocates.  He will be a major addition
to Chrysler's leadership in the safety area," said Robert G. Liberatore, Vice
President, Washington Affairs.
    In his new position, Felrice will report to Albert J. Slechter, Regulatory
Affairs Director, and will work closely with Chrysler's safety team on safety
and harmonization issues.
    Felrice has received a number of honors and awards including the
Presidential Rank Award of Distinguished Executive (1985), the Secretary of
Transportation's Award for Meritorious Achievement (1978,1982), and the
Federal Highway Administrator's Award for Superior Achievement (1975).  He is
also a member of the Society of Automotive Engineers and the Association for
the Advancement of Automotive Medicine.  Additionally, he plays an advisory
role at the Harvard Center for Risk Analysis and serves on the advisory board
at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.
    Felrice has a Master of Science in Civil Engineering from Northwestern
University and a Bachelor of Civil Engineering from City College of New York.
He was born on June 16, 1945, in Brooklyn, New York.  He is married with two
children and resides in Rockville, Maryland.
