Land Rover Reports October Sales

    LANHAM, Md., Nov. 3 -- Land Rover North America, Inc. today
reported October sales of 2,052 units.
    Charles R. Hughes, President, Land Rover North America, said, "This month
has been our best October ever, and a record setting October for Discovery! We
have a good supply of product and the right programs in place. With the
December launch of the Discovery Series II we are confident that the momentum
will continue into 1999."
