BMW Reports Best October on Record; Monthly Sales Up 10 Percent
WOODCLIFF LAKE, N.J., Nov. 3 -- BMW of North America, Inc.
reported October retail sales of 10,584 automobiles, an increase of 10 percent
over the same period last year, pushing BMW's year-to-date sales over the
100,000-unit threshold. Annual sales are up 5 percent, for a total of
108,392 cars.
Sales of BMW's all-new 3 Series sedans were extremely strong, propelling a
74 percent jump in 3 Series sales for the month.
Land Rover North America, Inc., a member of the BMW Group, also reported
its best October ever, with sales of 2,052 vehicles and year-to-date sales of
17,157.
Consolidated U.S. October sales for the two companies were 12,636 units
(BMW: 10,584; Land Rover: 2,052) and consolidated year-to-date sales of
125,549 vehicles (BMW: 108,392; Land Rover: 17,157).
