Toyota Motor Sales Announces External Affairs Staff Changes

Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., Inc. Announces External Affairs Staff Changes
    TORRANCE, Calif., Nov. 3 -- Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., Inc.
(TMS) today announced new assignments for two veteran external affairs
managers and the appointment of a new member to the company's Media Relations
Department.
    Mike Michels, formerly national manager, Lexus public relations, will
assume new duties as national media relations and motorsports manager in the
TMS Corporate Communications Department.  Nancy Hubbell, who previously served
as media relations and motorsports manager, will replace Michels as Lexus
public relations manager.  Diana DeJoseph, new to Toyota, joins TMS Corporate
Communications as senior media relations administrator.
    Michels will be responsible for corporate communications issues,
organizational changes and various divisions and subsidiaries including Toyota
Motorsports, Toyota Marine Sports, Calty Design Research, Toyota Motor Credit
Corporation and Toyota Industrial Equipment, Inc.  During his 12 years with
Toyota, Michels has been Toyota product news manager and Toyota product
planning manager.  Michels reports to Senior Vice President, External Affairs,
Jim Olson.
    Hubbell will be responsible for all Lexus public relations activities
including promotion of Lexus vehicles, corporate issues, interfacing with
industry analysts, awards and sales announcements.  Hubbell started her career
with Toyota in 1991 as Lexus product news administrator.  Hubbell reports to
Joe Tetherow, national manager, product news and field operations.
    DeJoseph's background in public relations includes working for the Federal
Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) as a public affairs crisis officer.  She
also has coordinated community affairs and media relations activities for
downtown business associations in Old Pasadena and Uptown Whittier,
California.  DeJoseph reports to Michels.
    John Hanson will continue in his current position as national product news
manager for the Toyota Division.  Hanson is responsible for Toyota Division
new product launches, product information, sales and marketing, advertising
and parts and service issues.  He reports to Tetherow.
