O'Sullivan Corporation Appoints Campbell to Board of Directors

    WINCHESTER, Va.--Oct. 27, 1998--

    Dividend Declaration

    At its regularly scheduled Board of Directors meeting today, O'Sullivan Corporation announced that John Sheppard Campbell, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Company, was appointed to the Company's Board of Directors.
    Campbell, who joined O'Sullivan in 1973, was named president and CEO in August, 1998. Prior to that appointment, he was Vice President of O'Sullivan's manufacturing operations and President of Kiefel Technologies, a manufacturing joint venture between O'Sullivan and Paul Kiefel GmBH, of Freilassing, Germany. He and his wife, Nancy, reside in Winchester, VA. They have two sons, John S. Campbell Jr. and S. Langdon Campbell.
    At the meeting, the Board of Directors declared a regular dividend of $0.08 per share, payable January 8, 1999, to shareholders of record December 11, 1998.
